Rutger Hauer was a versatile Dutch actor whose prolific 50-year acting career included roles in dozens of films, the most notable of which included Turkish Delight, Batman Begins and arguably his most memorable, that of a violent android named Roy Batty in Ridley Scott's science-fiction masterpiece, Blade Runner.
